THE AUSTRALIAN LEARS
This section of the website is available to any and all Australian LEAR families who wish to record their history and ancestry.
The work done to date indicates there are LEAR family members in Australia with ancestral roots all over the globe.
While the group that commenced the initial research had a personal interest in the LEAR family from Bitton UK the research which was intended to eliminate those LEAR families not associated with the branch from Bitton identified several LEAR families in Australia. There are LEAR family groups known to exist in the following states.
AS AT JANUARY 2008 INFORMATION HAS BEEN LOADED RELATING TO TASMANIA - LARGELY A FAMILY ORIGINATING IN BITTON (UK).
FURTHER INFORMATION IS BEING COMPILED AND WILL BE ADDED AS IT IS COMPLETED.
Interestingly, while research was conducted to determine who our ancestors were and how they came to be in Australia it also became apparent that the Australian LEARs have ties with Mauritious (Ile de France), Barbados, India, Germany and Norway while Australian LEARs have immigrated to the USA, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. The world has become a small place?
